Other Christ

Other Christ, Alter Christus!
Blessed by God to bring
God's teachings to souls!
With angels ever sing
God's praises, - your goal
To do God's precious work
Of salvation for souls!
Your calling is so great!
Other Christ, whose hands,
Whose lips, pronounce so low
The words He said to say
To bring Him truly down
Into bread and wine each day
What glory, what renown -
To feed God's precious flock!
To them thus to unlock
The gates of Heaven, thence
To this work you are sent!
Fulfill then this, your goal,
Your calling great and true
You have God's work to do!
