The Church in Britain Seeking

Weekly Mass will soon be the exception for the four million Catholics in Britain. Retirement and death have reduced the number of priests by over 20 percent in the past 20 years and the situation will only get worse.
Plans to shut down some of the inner-city churches have angered parishioners in Liverpool where the parishes have been reduced by more than one-half. Duties which were at one time handled by two or three priests must be looked after by a lone priest.
