Re: The Salvation of Souls
May is the month Holy Mother Church dedicates to Our Lady. This May marks the 86th anniversary of the first apparition of Our Lady at Fatima. As you know, the apparitions and Message of Our Lady of Fatima dominated much of the 20th Century and continue to do so as we begin the 21st Century.
Given that Our Ladys requests at Fatima have still not been fulfilled, this Message of hope and peace will continue to play a major role in Church and world history in the coming years.
Yet the fulfillment of Our Ladys requests and the subsequent Triumph of Her Immaculate Heart will only be the beginning, not the end. It is with great anticipation that we wait for this event and all it entails.
Our Ladys Triumph promises to be one of the biggest events in salvation history, the magnitude of which was foreshadowed by one of the most incredible miracles in the history of mankind, the Miracle of the Sun.
That miracle, on October 13, 1917, foretold 3 months in advance by Our Lady, was the spectacular climax ending the 6 apparitions at Fatima.
Thus, on the day and at the time foretold, there were 70,000 people there waiting to witness the means Heaven would use so that all would know the authenticity of the apparitions and the importance of the Fatima Message.
Yet Our Lady told us, as magnificent as the Miracle of the Sun was, the world would have been given a miracle of even greater proportions had the children not been kidnaped by a local government official on August 13 and prevented from meeting Our Lady on that day, as scheduled.
It was an important lesson, and reminder from Heaven, regarding the consequences of our actions and their impact on our temporal lives, our spiritual lives and ultimately on the eternal salvation of souls.
Our Catholic Faith teaches us that everything we think, say and do should be to strive for our eternal salvation, and the salvation of others. Just as the very basis of our Catholic Faith is all about the salvation of souls, so too is the Message of Fatima.
Many Catholics are not aware that Our Lady appeared at Fatima in 1917 in response to a solemn public appeal to Heaven made by Pope Benedict XV. It was during World War I and the Holy Father appealed to the Holy Mother of God to show humanity the way to peace.
Our Lady responded eight days later, appearing at Fatima on May 13, 1917, in order to give to the world Heavens plan for peace — the only way to true peace — the only way to obtain any lasting peace.
She asked of the Holy Father and the bishops, the Consecration of Russia to Her Immaculate Heart. She asked of the faithful to pray the Rosary daily, make sacrifices (especially all the sacrifices necessary for fulfilling their daily duties), make the Five First Saturday Communions of Reparation, and pray for the Holy Father.
It is Our Heavenly Mother we have to thank for interceding on our behalf before the throne of Almighty God.
It was precisely because of our merciful Mother intervening on our behalf, that we were granted the gift of the First Saturday Communions of Reparation.
Knowing how much Our Heavenly Mother has done to help us, we must ask ourselves if we have done enough to help ourselves, our families, and others.
The number of souls saved or not saved, as well as what happens in the world in the coming months and years, will depend at least partially on what we, the members of the Catholic Church, do or fail to do.
Our Lady, Queen of Mercy, interceded for us sinners, and asked Her Divine Son to accept in reparation for our sins and the sins of others, the Communions of the First Saturdays, to console Her sorrowful Heart.
Our Lord granted Her request made on our behalf, thus making the reparatory devotion a sure and easy means for converting souls who are in danger of being lost eternally.
This makes the salvation of souls really dependent on our own generosity because the Blessed Virgin Mary, constituted by Her Son as universal Mediatrix and Mother of Divine Grace, cannot act alone. She needs us, our consoling love, and our reparatory small devotions, in order to save souls from hell.
Our Lady so ardently and urgently desires us to practice this devotion, that She told Sister Lucy ...I promise to assist at the moment of death, with all the graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the first Saturday of five consecutive months shall confess, receive Holy Communion, recite five decades of the Rosary, and keep Me company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary, with the intention of making reparation to Me.
How can we deny the simple requests of our loving, Heavenly Mother?
When enough people amend their lives, pray the Rosary, offer sacrifices, make the First Saturday Communions of Reparation, and when the Holy Father and the bishops consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, then Russia will convert to the Holy Catholic Faith, there will be peace for all mankind, and many souls will be converted and saved.
Please join us in heeding the appeal of our Heavenly Mother. Help us make known this important message which the Holy Mother of God gave us for our eternal salvation, and to obtain world peace.
