Re: The Importance of Grace

J.M.J.

“And why seest thou the mote in thy brother’s eye: but the beam that is in thy own eye thou considerest not?... Hypocrite, cast first the beam out of thy own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to take out the mote from thy brother’s eye”.
(Luke 6:41-42)

Dear Friend of Our Lady,

Recently I heard a priest speaking about the importance of grace and devotion to the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts. Here is a summary of what he said:

Without grace — Actual and Sanctifying Grace — it is impossible to please God, impossible to go to Heaven, impossible to be good and keep the Ten Commandments at all times.
We need grace from God the Father. But Almighty God has ordained that all grace comes to us through Jesus Christ Our Savior and Redeemer.
However Our Lord has ordained that all grace He has flow to us — every man, woman and child on the face of the earth — through the free will and intercession of His Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary.
He has ordained this because Mary, His Mother, loved Him so much and co-operated so closely in His work of Redemption, even to the point of suffering more than anyone else could for Him and with Him for our salvation.
These truths — the necessity of prayer asking for all the graces we need and the debt of gratitude we owe to Jesus and Mary — the sweetness and goodness of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary — are what God the Father wants mankind to learn now.
In exchange for accepting into our hearts these truths and living them, He will grant us peace in our hearts, our homes, our communities, our cities, countries and the whole world.

Some people believe they are good, moral and upright solely by their own strength. But Catholic teaching clearly states that is neither true nor possible. We all need God’s grace to be good.

Unfortunately, some of those who say or think they are good proudly try to lord it over others. Such pride or arrogance is called hubris.

Enclosed is a copy of an article entitled Human Rights Hypocrisy written by Paul Craig Roberts, former secretary of the U.S. Treasury under President Reagan.

In the article, the author demonstrates how bad this hubris is in high places today, specifically in the highest political offices in the U.S. government.

The author eloquently (albeit with some sarcasm) points out the irony of the U.S. government fingering the human rights abuses of governments of other countries, while ignoring its own significant human rights abuses — such as the killing of thousands of unarmed innocent civilians in other parts of the world.

This should not be taken as an affront to our soldiers whose intention is to preserve freedom and protect loved ones at home from harm. We must continue to pray for them. There are reasons why the suicide rate among soldiers is so high.

The truth of the content of the enclosed article and all it implies, is yet another example of just how critical it is that we pray for the Pope and bishops to make the Act of Consecration of Russia to Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart.

It is necessary so that world leaders, even those close to home, do not cause more war, more human suffering, all the while proclaiming they are men of peace.

Only Our Lady can help us as She Herself said at Fatima. But She can only bring peace to the world and all of us together if Her request for the Consecration of Russia is done.

That is because God the Father wants the whole world to see that grace comes to us through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

In answer to Sister Lucia’s question ‘Why will You not give peace, why not convert Russia without the Consecration?’, Our Lord answered, “Because I want My whole Church to recognize that Consecration as a Triumph of the Immaculate Heart so that later on My Church will place devotion to the Immaculate Heart beside devotion to My Sacred Heart”.

Please join our ongoing Rosary Crusade for the Consecration and Conversion of Russia. Make extra copies or call us at 1-800-845-3047 for more copies of the enclosed Rosary Crusade form.

Feel free to make extra copies of the enclosed article, Human Rights Hypocrisy, to give to others.

Time is running short. Please pray for the Holy Father that he acts soon in calling for the bishops to unite with him in making the solemn public Act of Consecration of Russia to Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart.

Please consider joining me in praying three Hail Marys daily for the conversion or removal (if they won’t convert) of our government leaders, specifically those whose voting record and goal is anti-Christ.

In the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts,

Joanna Swords
