    re: Petitions and Prayers for
    Pope Benedict XVI

    Dear Friend of Our Lady,

There are very few events as important to Catholics as the election of a new Pope. And indeed, the election of Pope Benedict XVI is an event of tremendous and historic significance.

As you well know, this new pontificate comes at a time of unique challenges and truly unprecedented dangers in the history of the Church and the world.

The new Pope begins his reign with a Church deeply divided by internal dissent and confronted by a radically secularized society increasingly hostile to any and all things Catholic.

There is no doubt in my mind that the great chastisement which Our Lady warned us about at Fatima has already begun in earnest and that this new Pope will, sadly, as She predicted, "have much to suffer" unless he very soon obeys Our Lord and Our Lady’s command in the Fatima Message.

If there was ever a time when we needed to pray and pray again for the Church and for its Supreme Pontiff, that time is surely and absolutely now.

But at this critical moment in human history, I must tell you that prayers alone are not enough. As the last few months have shown, this is also the time for ACTION!

Only a few days after the announcement of the new Pope, the Italian daily newspaper La Stampa published what had to be the single most important and revealing story on the entire papal election.

Written by famed Vatican correspondent Marco Tosatti, the article disclosed that a "highly confidential" official report had been circulated to all the Cardinals prior to the Conclave.

According to the article, the report detailed the current crisis in the Church in such stark terms that one Cardinal was quoted as saying "I was afraid my heart would give out on me."

Mr. Tosatti reports that the document contains graphic data on the "lack of integrity" in the priesthood, recounting case after case of priests who have violated vows of celibacy and the sanctity of the confessional as well as embezzled Church money.

There can be little question that the report also broke down the grim statistics regarding the virtual collapse of the Church in Europe, where Mass attendance has declined into single digits (that is less than 10% of Catholics go to Mass each Sunday) and vocations to the priesthood are practically non-existent.

Nor can we doubt that it foretold of a similar collapse in North America, where hundreds of churches are already being sold for lack of parishioners or to pay for clerical sex crimes.

The information in this secret report was apparently so shocking that it literally stampeded votes to the "conservative" candidate, Cardinal Ratzinger, leading to his election in a history-making four ballots.

We were Warned - We were Told

When the Mother of God appeared at Fatima, it was precisely to warn of these dire events (and worse) unless and until the Church heeded and obeyed Her requests, especially for the Consecration of Russia.

She specifically told us that the Church would be persecuted and that the Holy Father would suffer terribly. In the Third Secret, She warned us of the apostasy and faithlessness that would inevitably follow if the Church ignored Her Message.

Tragically, Our Lady’s words have not only been ignored by the Church, but even worse, they’ve been ridiculed, laughed at and dismissed as "corny nonsense" and "pious superstition".

In consequence, we are today faced with the twin spectacles of a Church torn apart by internal chaos and dissent and a society dominated by militant secularists to whom the very mention of God’s rights or even the very mention of His Holy Name is tantamount to an insult or crime.

Same-sex marriage. Mass abortions. Euthanasia. Pornography on demand. AIDS. Terrorism, violence and endless war. A world of rampant corruption and sin beyond anything in recorded history.

None of us would have believed all these things possible if they weren’t happening in front of our eyes!

But they are happening and they are getting worse. Our bulwark and our protection against these and other "snares of the devil" should be and must be our Holy Faith and the prophetic Message of Fatima.

But what are we to do when leading Bishops and Cardinals in the Church are compromised and paralyzed by duplicity, dissent, disobedience and doubt? To whom are we to turn when the very ones in leadership have betrayed our trust and confidence?

    "Only I Can Help You"

Our Lady spoke these words at Fatima, knowing full-well that these darkest of dark days would come. She told us so that we would know where to turn and to whom.

But that’s not all She said to you and me. She also promised us that "In the end, My Immaculate Heart will triumph." Believe me, this is no pie-in-the-sky optimism; this is a solemn promise from Heaven itself and our guarantee of protection and victory!

But that final victory will not come without our prayers, especially our Rosaries, and sacrifices. Almighty God lovingly calls us to participate in the glorification of His Sacred Heart together with His Mother’s Immaculate Heart.

Right now, that call is stronger and louder and clearer than ever before. It’s a call to pray and pray again for the Church and the Pope. It’s a call to stand up with, and for, Our Blessed Mother Mary. It’s a call to make our own voices heard and to do our part in order that our own prayers will be answered.

It is, in short, a call to action. And today that action needs to start with our new Holy Father.

    Prayer for Pope Benedict XVI

In the past, in his role as both a Catholic theologian and as the head of the Holy Office, Our Lady's Apostolate has had more than one occasion to strongly disagree with Cardinal Ratzinger, who is now Pope Benedict XVI.

Specifically, we have taken exception to his interpretations of the Fatima Message and with his release of what we are morally certain to be a partial and incomplete version of the Third Secret.

That said, we join with you and millions of other Catholics in praying for our new Holy Father, asking Almighty God to bless him and give him the strength and resolution to lead and restore the Church to Her divinely appointed glory.

But that’s not all we pray for...

On bended knees and with bowed heads, we pray that Pope Benedict XVI will hear and obey the words of Our Lady and, with all the bishops of the world, will consecrate Russia to Her Immaculate Heart exactly as She specified in the Fatima Message.

We offer this prayer knowing that "only by this means" will God convert that poor nation and grant to His suffering Church and to all the peoples of the world the peace and tranquility which we long for -- so ardently.

If we’ve learned one thing over the years, it’s that with enough faith in Jesus and Mary, prayer and hard work, nothing is impossible. And as far as I’m concerned, that includes the Consecration of Russia!

No one can say what this new Pope will do and where he will lead the Church, but I, for one, am not content to just sit by and watch.

There’s just too much at stake now to wait and see.

Beginning now, we are starting the largest prayer-and-petition campaign in history. We are literally going to bombard Heaven with prayers and flood the Pope with petitions!

I’m not talking here about a few hundred thousand or even a million prayers and petitions, I’m talking about FIVE MILLION or TEN MILLION or TWENTY MILLION, if that’s what it takes.

Impossible you say? Crazy? Consider, for a moment, that if you and other friends on our list collect just 50 names over the next year, we will have over 7,500,000 names to send to the Pope.

Three Small, but very BIG Things

I’m asking you to do three simple things to kick off this new campaign:

    (1) Pray Three Hail Mary’s for the success of this effort.

    (2) Sign your name to the petition for Russia’s Consecration.

    (3) Make a generous contribution to help us reach others.

These are very small things, but they can have a HUGE and overwhelming effect on our struggle to get Russia consecrated!

Obviously, it’s going to take a whole lot of prayer and a whole lot of money to make this campaign a success...but think of the impact that 5 or 10 or 20 MILLION signatures will have.

As always, you are in my prayers and I remain thankful for your prayers. May God richly bless you for your continuing support.

Yours in Jesus, Mary and Joseph,

    Father Nicholas Gruner

Please help us kick off this petition campaign to the new Holy Father with your special "seed gift" that will allow us to send Consecration petitions to other Catholics. We have the names of over 400,000 others waiting to receive petitions, but we need your help to reach them! Please give as generously as you possibly can afford. You can make your donation online and sign the Petition to the Holy Father by clicking on the links below.
