Pilgrimage 1

6-Day Pilgrimage to
Portugal
October 10-15, 2007


Zaragoza, Spain

Day 1 - Wednesday, October 10:
Evening departure flight from Newark, NJ to Lisbon, Portugal.

Day 2 - Thursday, October 11:
On arrival in Lisbon, we will visit Lisbon, seeing the location of the Hospital where Blessed Jacinta was visited by Our Lady of Fatima, and visiting the Birth place of St. Anthony. We continue to our hotel in Fatima. The afternoon will be free to visit Aljustrel, where we will find the homes of the three children seers, the Well where the Angel appeared once, Valinhos, where Our Lady of Fatima came once, and the Cabeço where the angel twice appeared to the three Fatima children. We shall also visit the Fatima Village Church and the Cemetery where Jacinta and Francisco were buried before being transferred to the Fatima Basilica, as well as the Shrine of Our Lady of Ortiga. Overnight in Fatima.

Day 3 - Friday, October 12:
In the morning we will visit the Carmelite Convent in Coimbra where Sister Lucy lived. If time permits, we will visit the incorrupt body of St. Elizabeth of Portugal. Then we will travel to Santarem to visit the site of the Eucharistic Miracle of the Bleeding Host. After dinner we will take part in the Candlelight Vigil and Procession at the Fatima Shrine. Overnight in Fatima.  

Day 4 - Saturday, October 13:
This morning we will take part in the ceremonies for the 90th anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun at the Fatima Shrine. In the afternoon, you can pray at the Capelinha where Our Lady visited six different times, or visit the Tombs of Blessed Francisco and Blessed Jacinta and Sister Lucy, or spend your free time revisiting Aljustrel, Valinhos, the Cabeço, and the Cemetery, all within walking distance of the Shrine. Overnight in Fatima.

Day 5 - Sunday, October 14:
We will visit Our Lady of the Ferns Shrine and the magnificent Cathedral of Our Lady of Victory in Batalha with its beautiful monastery and renowned chapels. Overnight in Fatima.

Day 6 - Monday, October 15: Short Pilgrimage Ends:
Following breakfast in Fatima, Pilgrims on the short pilgrimage will return to Lisbon Airport for their flight home to Newark, N.J.

October 10 - 26, 2007

Day 6 - Monday, October 15:
Pilgrims on the extended pilgrimage to Spain and France travel to Tuy, stopping to visit Viana Do Costello, the Shrine of Saint Lucia, patron saint of eye problems. After lunch we will visit the Convent in Tuy, where Sister Lucy received the vision of Our Lady and the Most Holy Trinity commanding the Consecration of Russia, and where she wrote the words Our Lady spoke in the Third Secret. Overnight in Tuy.

Day 7 - Tuesday, October 16:
In the morning we travel to Pontevedra where Our Lady and the Child Jesus appeared and spoke to Sister Lucy of Fatima asking for the Communion of Reparation on the First Saturdays. Here, She made the great promise for properly doing 5 First Saturdays in a row. We will then travel to Rianjo, where Jesus prophesied to Sister Lucy, the danger of death facing our bishops today because Russia has not been consecrated to the Immaculate Heart. Overnight in Tuy.

Day 8 - Wednesday, October 17:
After breakfast we go to Santiago, where we will visit the Tomb of St. James the Apostle (martyred in 44 A.D.) in the magnificent 1000-year-old Cathedral. Overnight near Santiago.

Day 9 - Thursday, October 18:
Today we will continue to Covadonga, nestled in the mountains. In Covadonga we will visit the Shrine of Our Lady dating back over 1000 years ago when the Catholic reconquest of Spain was started against overwhelming odds, where angels were seen to fight on the side of the Catholics. Overnight in Covadonga.

Day 10 - Friday, October 19:
We depart Covadonga and travel near the beautiful mountain range of the Picos De Europa. Overnight near San Sebastian.

Lourdes

Day 11 - Saturday, October 20:
This morning we travel through the French Pyrenees Mountain range in which Lourdes is nestled. In the afternoon we will visit the peaceful Grotto where Our Lady appeared 18 different times in 1858 to a young Saint Bernadette. Cures of both soul and body are still being granted today by the hand of Our Blessed Mother through the Miraculous Waters, which still flow at Lourdes. We will visit the baths and also the Home of St. Bernadette. In the evening we join in the Candlelight Procession. Overnight in Lourdes.

Day 12 - Sunday, October 21:
Together with thousands of other pilgrims, we will visit the Shrine and Grotto of Lourdes today and see the place where St. Bernadette was baptized. We will also visit the Stations of the Cross. Overnight in Lourdes.

The Vision of Tuy

Day 13 -Monday, October 22:
We depart for our return to Spain through the mountains to reach the beautiful city of  Zaragoza that has the oldest Shrine of Our Lady in western Europe.  It was miraculously preserved during the Spanish Civil War. It was to Zaragoza that Our Lady bilocated during Her life to visit St. James the Apostle. (before 45 A.D.) She stood on top of a Pillar of Stone (over a mile deep) which is still enshrined today in the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Pillar. Overnight in Zaragoza.

Day 14 - Tuesday, October 23:
Today we go to Valle De Los Caidos which is a breathtaking sight.  It is a church larger than St. Peter’s in Rome and built inside a mountain, to commemorate the 1.5 million dead who fell in the Spanish Civil War. Overnight near Avila.

Day 15 - Wednesday, October 24:
In Avila we will visit the place where St. Teresa was born, and where she began to reform the Carmelite order, and also where St. John of the Cross worked as a Spiritual Director. It was here in Avila where both the Child Jesus and St. Joseph spoke to St. Teresa. Overnight near Avila.

Day 16 - Thursday, October 25:
Visit the Tomb of St. John of the Cross in Segovia and then we return to Fatima, driving through beautiful settings of hills and valleys in blissful peace. Overnight in Fatima.

Day 17 - Friday, October 26:
After a final visit to Our Lady’s Shrine in Fatima, pilgrims depart Fatima for Lisbon and return to the U.S.A. Liberty International Airport, Newark, N.J.
